The Kress KR285A is the high-capacity model in the EyePilot® 4×4 family, combining true four-wheel drive, RTKⁿ satellite guidance and stereo vision with a wider cutting system and increased working speed for larger lawns, estates and complex properties. It is designed to autonomously maintain substantial areas while handling steep terrain, uneven ground and challenging lawn layouts.

True Four-Wheel Drive
The KR285A uses four-wheel drive to maintain traction across steep, uneven and difficult terrain. Independent drive control helps the mower stay stable and maintain direction where conventional two-wheel-drive robotic mowers may struggle.
84% Slope Capability
With a rated gradient capability of up to 84%, approximately 40 degrees, the KR285A is designed for properties containing steep banks and terrain that would normally be unsuitable for a standard robotic mower.
EyePilot® RTKⁿ + Vision
Kress combines centimetre-level RTKⁿ satellite positioning with stereo V-SLAM vision. The two systems work together to maintain accurate positioning and environmental awareness around trees, buildings and more complex lawn areas.
Wire-Free Lawn Mapping
Virtual mapping removes the need to bury perimeter wire around the property. Boundaries, mowing zones and travel routes can instead be created digitally, making future changes substantially easier.
Faster 0.7 m/s Working Speed
A working speed of up to 0.7 metres per second helps the KR285A cover its large operating area efficiently, making the most of available mowing and charging time across substantial properties.
Wider Four-Blade Cutting System
The 240 mm cutting deck uses four pivoting blades, giving the KR285A greater cutting capacity per pass than the smaller EyePilot models and helping it maintain larger turf areas efficiently.

Kress Australia identifies the KR285A as its 5,000 m² EyePilot® 4×4 model, while current Australian model specifications describe coverage of up to 10,000 m² across a 48-hour cycle. That makes it particularly suited to acreage homes, large residential estates and expansive landscaped properties.
ZeroTrim™ Edge Cutting
ZeroTrim™ positions the cutting system closer to the edge of the mower, helping reduce the strip of grass normally left beside suitable lawn boundaries. Less unmown edge means less follow-up work with a line trimmer.
Stereo Vision Obstacle Detection
Stereo cameras provide depth perception and help the KR285A identify obstacles in its working area before routing around them.
Reliable In Complex Environments
Visual localisation provides another positioning reference when trees, buildings or other obstructions interfere with ideal satellite reception, giving the mower greater navigation redundancy.
Connected From The Start
Built-in 4G, Wi-Fi and app-based control.
Connected functionality allows mowing areas, schedules and system settings to be managed digitally. Integrated 4G also supports location-based anti-theft functions and remote mower communication.
Automatic & Assisted Mapping
Flexible mapping options allow lawn boundaries to be created automatically, assisted by the operator or configured through the Kress app depending on the layout of the property.
Multi-Zone Management
Separate lawn areas can be mapped as individual zones, with the mower navigating precisely between them as part of a larger autonomous mowing plan.
10 Ah Battery & 7 A Charging
The KR285A uses a 20 V 10 Ah battery paired with a 7 A charger. Current Australian specifications indicate approximately 90 minutes of mowing per charge and around 70 minutes charging time, helping support its high daily mowing capacity.
