The Kress KR282A takes robotic mowing into genuinely difficult terrain. Combining EyePilot® RTKⁿ positioning, vision-based awareness and a true four-wheel-drive chassis, it is engineered for properties with steep slopes, uneven ground, raised transitions and complex lawn shapes where conventional robotic mowers can struggle.

True Four-Wheel Drive
Four independent drive motors provide continuous traction and precise torque control at each wheel. This gives the KR282A the ability to maintain direction and stability on steep, slippery and uneven ground.
Articulated All-Terrain Chassis
Independent axles and an articulated body allow the mower to follow changing terrain while keeping all four wheels in contact with the ground. The geometry also helps maintain a consistent cutting plane across contours.
84% Slope Capability
Kress rates the KR282A for gradients of up to 84%, approximately 40 degrees. Real-time torque control across its four drive motors helps it remain stable and controllable on terrain well beyond the capability of a typical 2WD robotic mower.
Front-Wheel Steering
Instead of skid steering its wheels across the grass, the KR282A uses true front-wheel steering. This allows smooth, controlled direction changes while helping reduce the turf wear associated with pivoting drive systems.
6 cm Obstacle Clearance
Vertical clearance of up to 6 cm allows the mower to negotiate raised lawn edges, transitions and other changes in ground level that can stop lower-clearance robotic mowers.
Self-Levelling Cutting System
The self-levelling cutting system follows the terrain beneath the mower, helping maintain a more consistent cutting height as the chassis moves across slopes, undulations and uneven lawn surfaces.
EyePilot® Navigation
RTKⁿ precision backed by vision and sensor fusion.
The KR282A uses Kress RTKⁿ correction together with vision-based positioning and redundant sensor data. If satellite reception is weakened by buildings, trees or complex surroundings, the mower can continue using its combined positioning architecture rather than relying on a single navigation source.
Vision-Based Lawn Mapping
EyePilot® vision helps identify the lawn environment and supports wire-free mapping. Mapping can be completed automatically, with operator assistance, or through app-based configuration depending on the property.
Intelligent Obstacle Avoidance
The mower uses vision to recognise non-lawn objects and route around them. Kress also tunes the system to distinguish genuine obstacles from normal ground cover such as fallen leaves.
Reliable Around Hardscape
Vision-based grass recognition helps the mower accurately identify lawn boundaries beside paving, stone and other hardscape features rather than depending solely on satellite coordinates.
Night-Time Vision Support
Integrated front lighting provides additional illumination in low-light conditions, helping the vision system maintain useful environmental awareness after dark.
ZeroTrim™ Edge Cutting
ZeroTrim™ allows the KR282A to cut to within 3cm along lawn boundaries, reducing the strip of grass normally left beside hard edges and helping minimise follow-up work with a line trimmer.
Structured Mowing
Choose structured mowing when you want deliberate parallel coverage and visible striping across the lawn.
Random Mowing
Random-path operation is also available when a more natural, non-striped finish is preferred.
Multi-Zone Management
Separate lawn zones can be mapped and managed individually, with precise routing between areas and independent cutting-height configuration for each zone.
Connectivity Included
Wi-Fi and integrated 4G with no additional connectivity fee.
The KR282A includes its SIM and mobile-data service from the outset. The Kress app can be used to configure mowing zones, cutting settings and system status, while location tracking can help identify the mower if it is removed from the property.
